Founded by Dominican- Puerto Rican musician Maya Quiñones, La Vigilia was born from the belief that coffee, like music, is a universal language that should honor its players. We source our beans exclusively from the Ramirez Estate, a pinnacle of Caribbean agriculture where quality meets conscience. At the heart of our Dominican Republic offerings is a partnership built on transparency and transformation. We source our beans through Cafe Kreyol, a pioneer in the Direct Trade movement that ensures farmers are paid well above Fair Trade minimums based on the quality of their craft. The Ramirez Estate, located in the mountainous Jarabacoa region, is a model for the future of coffee. From powering their mill with recycled coffee cherry husks to providing housing and education for their workers, the Ramirez family proves that world-class coffee and social responsibility go hand-in- hand.
